Classic Ash Composite Decking with a Full Composite Subframe in Woolston
The Challenge
The customer wanted a new outdoor space with the appearance and practical benefits of composite decking.
The low-maintenance requirement applied to the entire installation, not only the visible deck boards. Building the surface over a traditional timber frame would have left a timber structure beneath the composite finish.
The deck also needed a clearly defined perimeter that would complement the lighter Ash boards and give the completed installation a strong visual finish.
The DecKing Solution
DecKing constructed the deck using a full composite subframe, removing the need for a traditional timber structure beneath the boards.
Classic Ash composite decking was installed across the main surface. Its light grey finish creates a clean and modern outdoor space while retaining a natural woodgrain appearance.
A Classic Graphite picture-frame border was installed around the perimeter. The darker Graphite boards contrast with the Ash surface, define the shape of the deck and create a finished edge from every visible side.
Combining composite decking with a composite subframe created one complete low-maintenance system rather than placing composite boards over timber.
The Result
The completed deck combines Classic Ash and Graphite in a clean two-colour design.
The Ash boards keep the main area bright, while the Graphite picture-frame border provides contrast and gives the deck a defined outline. Beneath the surface, the full composite subframe supports the installation without introducing a timber structure.
The result is a durable composite deck designed for long-term outdoor use with minimal maintenance across both the visible surface and supporting frame.
