Terms, Conditions, Procedures & Warranty Information

DecKing Warrington Limited – Terms & Conditions of Sale

These Terms & Conditions apply to goods, materials, installations and services supplied by DecKing Warrington Limited, trading as DecKing.

DecKing Warrington Limited
Company Registration Number: 15569135
Registered Office: Rutherford House, Warrington Road, WA3 6ZH

These terms are written to explain how we work, what is included, how orders are confirmed, and how our warranty applies.

1. Definitions

“Buyer” means the customer, homeowner, consumer, business or organisation purchasing goods, materials, installation work or services from DecKing.

“Seller”, “we”, “us” or “DecKing” means DecKing Warrington Limited, trading as DecKing.

“Goods” means any products, materials, decking boards, fencing, gates, subframes, fixings, lighting, accessories or related materials supplied by DecKing.

“Services” means any installation, survey, design, preparation, removal, fitting, repair or other work carried out by DecKing.

“Installation” means any completed DecKing project, including decking, fencing, gates, pergolas, garden structures or associated outdoor works.

“Writing” includes email, digital messages, online forms and other written communication.

2. Basis Of Sale

No order is accepted until confirmed by DecKing in writing.

Any quotation, calculator price, invoice or order confirmation will set out what is included in the agreed work.

The customer is responsible for checking that the details provided to DecKing are accurate, including measurements, access information, site conditions, chosen materials and installation requirements.

Any changes requested after confirmation may affect the final price, timescale or installation date.

3. Fixed Prices, Quotes & Calculator Prices

DecKing aims to provide fair, fixed and transparent pricing.

Where a fixed price is provided through the DecKing calculator or confirmed in writing, that price is based on the size, materials and options selected by the customer.

The fixed price applies to the agreed specification. It may change if:

  • the customer changes the size, materials or selected options;

  • site access is restricted or significantly different from the information provided;

  • the ground, existing structure or sub-base is unsuitable;

  • additional removal, waste, groundwork, structural support or preparation is required;

  • hidden issues are discovered that could not reasonably be seen before work begins;

  • the customer requests extra work not included in the original specification.

DecKing will always aim to explain any required changes clearly before additional chargeable work is carried out.

4. Payment Terms

Payment terms will be confirmed in writing before work begins.

Deposits, staged payments or balance payments may be required depending on the project, materials and installation date.

Goods and materials remain the property of DecKing until paid for in full.

For business-to-business transactions, late payment interest may be charged in line with statutory late payment rules. Government guidance confirms that statutory interest for late commercial payments is 8% plus the Bank of England base rate.

5. Consumer Rights & Bespoke Work

Consumer rights are not affected by these terms.

Where applicable, customers may have legal cancellation rights for distance or off-premises contracts. UK government guidance says online, mail and telephone order customers generally have the right to cancel within a limited period.

However, many DecKing products and installations are bespoke, made to measure, cut to size or built to the customer’s specific requirements. Bespoke or personalised goods may be excluded from standard cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

Where a customer asks DecKing to begin work, order bespoke materials, cut materials, manufacture items or reserve installation time, cancellation rights may be affected.

6. Delivery, Access & Site Conditions

The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the property and working area.

The customer must tell DecKing about any access restrictions before work begins, including narrow entries, steps, parking issues, shared access, height restrictions, underground services, drains, cables, pipes or other hazards.

DecKing is not responsible for delays caused by restricted access, unsafe access, undisclosed hazards or site conditions that were not made clear before work began.

Unless a separate groundwork package has been agreed in writing, DecKing is not responsible for the suitability of existing groundworks, foundations, patios, concrete bases, drainage, retaining walls or other existing structures.

DecKing reserves the right to pause, refuse or amend an installation if the site is unsuitable or unsafe.

7. Decking, Hot Tubs & Structural Use

Decking intended to support a hot tub, spa, heavy structure or unusually high load requires a specific structural design.

The customer must tell DecKing in writing if a hot tub, spa or heavy item may be placed on the deck at any point during the life of the installation.

If DecKing has not been told about this requirement, or if the correct upgraded subframe and support structure has not been requested, DecKing will not be responsible for the suitability of the deck for that purpose.

8. The DecKing Installation Standard

DecKing installations are built using professional-grade materials, suitable fixings, appropriate subframes and careful installation methods.

Depending on the project, this may include:

  • removal of existing decking or structures where agreed;

  • site preparation;

  • landscaping fabric where suitable;

  • timber or composite subframe options;

  • structural posts and support where required;

  • precision levelling;

  • premium timber or composite decking boards;

  • fencing, gates, pergolas or garden structures;

  • selected lighting, steps, edging or finishing details;

  • waste removal where included in the quote.

Only the items specifically confirmed in writing are included in the agreed price.

9. Warranty Overview

DecKing installations are backed by a clear workmanship and materials warranty where applicable and where stated in the customer’s quotation or order confirmation.

Our main premium DecKing installation standard is backed by our 10-year workmanship & materials warranty.

This means that, subject to the exclusions and conditions below, DecKing will stand behind both the quality of the installation work and the materials supplied as part of the agreed DecKing installation.

The exact warranty period may vary depending on the product, material or installation option chosen.

For example:

  • Premium timber decking is the timber option we recommend for customers wanting the DecKing 10-year workmanship & materials warranty.

  • Standard timber decking is still available, but it carries a shorter 5-year warranty.

  • Electrical components, lighting and accessories may carry separate manufacturer warranties.

  • Third-party products may be subject to the manufacturer’s own warranty terms.

The warranty period and coverage should always be confirmed in writing on the customer’s quote, invoice or order confirmation.

10. What The 10-Year Workmanship & Materials Warranty Covers

Where the DecKing 10-year workmanship & materials warranty applies, it covers defects arising from:

  • faulty DecKing installation workmanship;

  • structural failure caused by incorrect DecKing installation;

  • material defects in products supplied by DecKing, where those materials are covered by the relevant warranty;

  • premature failure of covered materials under normal domestic use and service conditions.

This warranty is intended to give customers complete peace of mind that their DecKing installation has been professionally installed using suitable materials.

11. Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover problems caused by:

  • misuse, neglect, abuse or accidental damage;

  • customer alterations or third-party alterations;

  • work carried out by anyone other than DecKing after completion;

  • movement, settlement, collapse or distortion of the ground or supporting structure beneath the installation;

  • unsuitable existing foundations, patios, concrete bases, drainage or groundworks not installed by DecKing;

  • extreme weather, flooding, fire, storm damage, subsidence or other events outside DecKing’s control;

  • normal weathering, colour change, fading, staining, dirt, mould, algae or general outdoor ageing;

  • lack of reasonable cleaning, care or maintenance;

  • installation of hot tubs, spas or heavy items where the correct structural design was not requested;

  • damage caused by animals, pests, plants, trees, roots or surrounding landscaping;

  • customer-supplied materials;

  • materials or products not supplied by DecKing;

  • electrical products outside their manufacturer warranty period.

The warranty may also be void if the customer engages DecKing staff, subcontractors or installers privately to carry out related work outside DecKing’s agreed contract.

12. Making A Warranty Claim

If the customer believes there is a warranty issue, they must contact DecKing in writing as soon as reasonably possible.

The customer should provide:

  • name and contact details;

  • project address;

  • date of installation where known;

  • description of the issue;

  • photographs or videos showing the concern;

  • proof of purchase, invoice or order confirmation.

DecKing must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the issue and confirm whether it is covered by warranty.

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, DecKing may choose to repair, replace or make good the affected part of the installation.

13. Customer Care & Maintenance

Outdoor installations require reasonable care and maintenance.

The customer is responsible for routine cleaning, keeping drainage clear, removing debris, preventing heavy build-up of moss or algae, and following any care guidance provided by DecKing or the product manufacturer.

Failure to maintain the installation reasonably may affect warranty coverage.

14. Subcontractors & Private Work

The customer agrees not to directly or indirectly solicit, employ, engage or privately instruct any DecKing employee, installer, agent or subcontractor for related works for a period of 12 months following completion of the DecKing project.

If the customer engages a DecKing subcontractor privately for related works during this period, DecKing may treat this as a breach of contract and any DecKing warranty on the affected project may be void.

15. Force Majeure

DecKing is not responsible for delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control.

This may include severe weather, material shortages, supplier delays, transport disruption, illness, accidents, fire, flooding, strikes, government restrictions or other circumstances beyond DecKing’s control.

16. General Terms

Any variation to these terms must be agreed in writing by DecKing.

If one part of these terms is found to be invalid, the remaining terms will continue to apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

17. Signature Collection 25-Year Product & Workmanship Warranty

Where DecKing supplies and installs a qualifying Signature Collection project, the Signature Collection warranty covers both eligible Signature products and DecKing workmanship for a period of 25 years, subject to the relevant warranty terms, agreed project specification, normal domestic use, proper care and maintenance, and no unauthorised alteration.

This may include qualifying Signature decking, fencing, gates, balustrades, Linear Screen details and related Signature components supplied and installed by DecKing as part of the agreed project.

The Signature Collection warranty is provided because DecKing controls both the supply and installation of the qualifying Signature project. It does not automatically apply to non-Signature products, customer-supplied materials, third-party works, misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised alterations, unsuitable cleaning methods, lack of reasonable care, ground movement, extreme weather events or matters outside DecKing’s reasonable control.

Natural Timber, Classic and Premium Collection installations remain covered by DecKing’s 10-year workmanship and materials warranty where applicable and subject to the relevant warranty terms.

Any DecKing warranty is provided in addition to the customer’s statutory rights and does not replace or reduce those rights.
