Composite Decking, Balustrade & Artificial Grass Edging in Widnes
This compact project on Smyth Road in Widnes demonstrates how considered detailing can bring the different areas of a smaller garden together.
DecKing installed a corner composite deck in Classic Stone, contrasting Ash finishing details, a matching composite balustrade and coordinated edging around the artificial grass.
The Challenge
The customer wanted to make better use of a compact garden while retaining separate areas for seating, play and everyday family use.
The decking needed to fit neatly into the rear corner, while the balustrade and artificial-grass edging needed to connect the different surfaces and give the completed garden a consistent finish.
The DecKing Solution
DecKing constructed a bespoke corner deck designed around the existing boundaries and available space.
Classic Composite Decking in Stone was used for the main surface, with contrasting Classic Ash trim fitted around the exposed edge to define the shape of the deck.
A matching Ash composite balustrade was installed within the garden, creating separation between the paved seating area and artificial grass.
Coordinated composite edging was also fitted around the artificial grass, continuing the Stone and Ash design beyond the deck and bringing the different parts of the garden together.
The Result
The completed garden now has clearly defined areas that feel coordinated rather than separate.
The corner deck provides a practical space for seating, while the balustrade and detailed artificial-grass edging introduce structure and visual continuity throughout the garden.
The Stone and Ash colour combination gives this compact installation a clean two-tone finish, with low-maintenance materials requiring no sanding, staining or painting.
