The Challenge

The customer wanted to replace the outdoor area immediately outside the rear of their home with a smart, low-maintenance space that would work naturally with the established garden.

With mature planting, hedging and a pond surrounding the area, the new deck needed to sit comfortably within the existing landscaping while providing a large, usable space directly from the house.

The DecKing Solution

DecKing installed Classic Composite decking in Ash, creating a spacious outdoor living area across the rear of the property.

The lighter Ash deck boards were finished with a contrasting Graphite picture-frame border and matching Graphite fascia, giving the deck a crisp, defined edge against the surrounding garden.

A stainless-steel and glass balustrade system was installed around the exposed garden edge, providing a clean contemporary finish while maintaining views across the lawn, planting and pond.

The combination of Ash, Graphite and clear glass gives the finished installation a modern appearance without detracting from the mature garden around it.

The Result

The completed deck creates a substantial outdoor space immediately outside the rear doors, providing plenty of room for seating, entertaining and enjoying the garden.

The Classic Ash decking keeps the area bright, while the Graphite border and fascia add contrast and definition. The stainless-steel and glass balustrade completes the installation without visually closing the deck off from the rest of the garden.

This project is a strong example of how composite decking and glass balustrades can be incorporated into an established garden while retaining its existing character and views.
