Project Story

Dunster House Dominator Workshop Installation in Hale Barns

This complete Dunster House installation in Hale Barns transformed an unused section of the garden into a fully equipped timber workshop. DecKing constructed the concrete base and installed the 4.5m × 2.5m Dunster House Dominator insulated garden room, adding extra wall insulation, lighting, electrical sockets and a heater to create a practical workspace for year-round use.

The Challenge

The customer wanted to create a dedicated workshop that could be used comfortably throughout the year without taking space from inside the house.

The 4.5m × 2.5m Dunster House Dominator required a strong, level concrete base before the building could be assembled. The finished workshop also needed greater thermal protection than the standard specification, together with permanent lighting, accessible electrical sockets and a heater.

The challenge was to coordinate the base construction, complete garden-room installation, additional wall insulation and electrical work as one project, creating a secure and practical workshop ready for regular use.

The DecKing Solution

DecKing began by preparing the installation area and constructing a level concrete base designed around the dimensions of the Dunster House Dominator.

Once the concrete base was ready, our team assembled the complete 4.5m × 2.5m timber garden room, including the structure, doors, windows, roof and external finishing components.

Additional insulation was installed within the walls to improve the workshop’s thermal performance. The electrical installation included internal lighting, sockets and a heater, giving the customer the power, visibility and warmth required to use the building as a functional workshop throughout the year.

Managing the concrete base, building installation, additional insulation and electrical work as one coordinated project ensured that every part of the finished workshop worked together correctly.

The Result

DecKing 10 Year Warranty Badge.png

The completed Dunster House Dominator provides the customer with a dedicated timber workshop that is separate from the main house and ready for year-round use.

The concrete base provides a strong and level foundation, while the additional wall insulation and heater help maintain a more comfortable internal environment. Lighting and electrical sockets provide the practical services needed for tools, equipment and everyday workshop use.

Externally, the timber building sits neatly within the garden, with full-height glazed doors and windows bringing natural light into the workspace.

This Hale Barns project demonstrates how a customer-supplied Dunster House garden room can be developed into a complete, purpose-built workspace through professional base construction, installation, insulation and electrical work.

Dunster House provides its own 10-year warranty for the building, while DecKing provides a separate 10-year workmanship warranty covering our installation.
