Mediterranean Charm: Premium Timber Decking with Olive Tree Planter, Thelwall

The Challenge

The homeowners in Thelwall wanted to replace an old stone patio with a warm, natural wood surface. The centerpiece of their garden design was a mature Olive Tree, and they required a deck that would not only provide a level seating area but also "frame" the tree as the main architectural focal point.

The DecKing Solution

We designed a bespoke timber layout that prioritizes both structural strength and aesthetic flow:
Premium Grade softwood: We used slow-grown, pressure-treated timber for the entire build. This high-specification wood offers a beautiful, natural grain and superior durability against the elements.
Integrated Olive Tree Planter: Rather than placing a pot on top of the deck, we built a bespoke, deep-set planter into the structure itself. This allows the Olive Tree to sit slightly raised with the decking surface, creating a sophisticated, high-end look.
Bespoke Structural Framing: To support the weight of the tree and its soil, we engineered a reinforced subframe around the planter area, ensuring the deck remains perfectly level and secure.
Precision Scribing: The timber boards were expertly scribed around the planter for a seamless finish, showing off the master joinery skills our team is known for in the WA4area.
