Project Story
Log Cabin Decking Replacement in Birchwood, Warrington
DecKing replaced the rotten timber deck outside an existing log cabin in Birchwood, Warrington, creating a fresh, neatly finished entrance to the building. The project combined removal of the deteriorated decking, preparation of the area and a new grooved timber deck with matching fascia boards, bringing a warm natural finish back to this established garden.
The Challenge
The existing timber deck in front of the log cabin had reached the end of its useful life. The boards were weathered, broken and rotten, leaving the entrance in need of replacement.
The established garden had planting and paving close to the cabin, so the new deck needed to fit neatly into the existing space.
The aim was to renew the cabin’s entrance with a practical timber deck that complemented the building and its garden setting.
The DecKing Solution
DecKing removed the old decking and prepared the area in front of the existing cabin. A landscape membrane was laid beneath the new deck as part of the preparation.
We then installed new grooved timber decking across the cabin frontage, creating a consistent surface outside the doors.
Matching timber fascia boards finish the exposed edges, giving the deck a clean outline beside the existing garden paving and planting.
The natural timber finish complements the cabin, while the simple rectangular layout makes the most of the space in front of it.
The Result
The finished deck has transformed the approach to this timber log cabin in Birchwood. Fresh timber boards and neatly finished edges have replaced the tired, rotten decking, creating a welcoming area outside the entrance.
With the existing cabin retained, the new deck refreshes the garden’s appearance and brings the building and outdoor space together.
This project shows the difference a well-finished timber decking replacement can make to an established garden.
