The Challenge

A homeowner in Wincham, Northwich, wanted to replace an aging garden area with a sophisticated, multi-functional outdoor space. The project presented several unique hurdles:

• Accessibility: The deck needed to be fully accessible for wheelchair users without compromising the aesthetic.

• Durability: The proximity to a natural pond and the damp Cheshire climate meant traditional timber would be at high risk of rot.

• Aesthetic Integration: The design needed a high-end finish to wrap around an existing water feature and include built-in utilities.

The DecKing Solution

We engineered a high-specification layout using a premium dual-tone colour palette and materials designed for longevity:

• Composite Joist Subframe: We swapped traditional wood for a 100% composite subframe. This creates a moisture-proof foundation that will never rot near the pond's edge.

• Dual-Tone Finish: We used Savanna composite boards for the main deck area, beautifully contrasted with a Mocha picture frame border.

• Matching Details: The Mocha theme was continued through the fascia boards and a bespoke matching Mocha raised planter.

• Bespoke Accessibility: We built custom disabled access ramps and a wide wrap-around step for easy entry.

• Added Functionality: We installed 2 x double electric sockets for outdoor power.
