Timber Pontoon Decking, Astor Drive For Grappenhall & Thelwall Parish Council
The Challenge
We were incredibly proud to be selected by Grappenhall & Thelwall Parish Council to design and install a high durability timber pontoon and wildlife viewing platform at Astor Drive Duck Pond. As a public space the requirements are far stricter than a domestic deck: it needed to be structurally superior, slip-resistant, and built to withstand constant contact with a water-side environment.
The DecKing Solution

Safety First: We anti-slip timber boards to ensure the walkway remains safe for families and elderly residents, even in the dampest of Cheshire winters.

Structural Integrity: The pontoon was engineered with heavy-duty sub-frames, ensuring a perfectly level and stable platform over the water’s edge.

Wildlife Friendly: The design was carefully planned to complement the natural surroundings of Astor Drive, providing a beautiful vantage point for the community without disturbing the local ducks.
