A premium Signature Collection decking and balustrade project in Knutsford, finished in Antique for a warm, natural and high-end outdoor living feel.

This case study shows how using the same Signature finish across both decking and balustrade can create a more coordinated, complete and refined outdoor space. The Brief

The customer wanted a premium outdoor living space that felt warm, natural and properly finished.

The brief was to create a decked area with a matching balustrade so the whole space felt connected, framed and more complete than a standard decking installation.

The finished space needed to feel:

  • warm and inviting

  • premium and coordinated

  • safe and properly framed

  • low-maintenance

  • weather-resistant

  • suitable for relaxing and entertaining

  • natural-looking without the upkeep of timber

  • appropriate for a high-end Knutsford property

The customer wanted the appearance of timber, but with the long-term product performance and easier maintenance of DecKing’s Signature composite range.

The Proposal

DecKing proposed the Signature Collection in Antique, using matching composite decking and balustrade to create a complete, coordinated outdoor living finish.

Antique was chosen because it gives the project warmth, depth and a more authentic woodgrain appearance. It is one of the most natural-looking Signature finishes, making it ideal for customers who want the character of timber with the practical benefits of composite.

Using Antique across both the decking and balustrade helped the whole installation feel consistent and intentional. Rather than adding a separate-looking safety feature, the balustrade became part of the overall design.

Key product benefits included:

  • Antique Signature composite decking

  • matching Antique Signature balustrade

  • warm timber-inspired appearance

  • authentic embossed woodgrain finish

  • hard-wearing capped composite construction

  • hidden fixing system for a cleaner deck surface

  • low-maintenance outdoor performance

  • no regular painting, oiling, staining or sealing

  • improved resistance to rot, splitting and warping compared with timber

  • 25-year Signature warranty

The proposal was not just to install a deck and balustrade. It was to create a finished outdoor living space with a warm, premium and fully coordinated Signature Collection look.

The Result

The finished installation created a warm, refined and low-maintenance outdoor living area with a strong sense of quality and completion.

The Antique Signature decking gave the space a natural timber-inspired surface, while the matching Antique balustrade helped frame the area and make the whole project feel more considered.

Because the decking and balustrade were kept within the same Signature finish, the result feels clean, consistent and premium from every angle.

The finished space now works as a proper outdoor living area: practical for everyday use, visually warmer than standard composite, and finished to the DecKing Standard.

A warm, coordinated Signature decking and balustrade project, built around the DecKing Signature Collection in Antique.
