The Brief

The customer wanted a premium outdoor living area that felt warm, natural and finished properly from every angle.

The brief was to create a decked space that could be used for relaxing and entertaining, while adding a balustrade detail that helped frame the area and give the project a more complete, high-end feel.

The finished space needed to feel:

  • warm and natural

  • premium and well designed

  • safe and properly framed

  • low-maintenance

  • weather-resistant

  • suitable for everyday outdoor living

  • coordinated without looking flat or one-dimensional

  • appropriate for a high-end Wilmslow property

The customer wanted the appearance of timber, but with the long-term performance and easier maintenance of DecKing’s flagship composite range.

The Proposal

DecKing proposed the Signature Collection, using Oak composite decking paired with an Antique balustrade.

Oak was chosen for the decking because it gives the space a warm, natural and authentic timber-inspired look. It creates a softer base tone that works well for outdoor seating, entertaining and garden living areas.

The Antique balustrade was introduced to add contrast and definition. Rather than matching everything in one flat colour, the two-tone approach helped give the project more depth and a more considered finish.

Key product benefits included:

  • Oak Signature composite decking

  • Antique Signature balustrade

  • premium two-tone design finish

  • authentic woodgrain appearance

  • hard-wearing capped composite construction

  • hidden fixing system for a cleaner deck surface

  • low-maintenance outdoor performance

  • no regular painting, oiling, staining or sealing

  • improved resistance to rot, splitting and warping compared with timber

  • 25-year Signature warranty

The proposal was not just to install a deck. It was to create a complete outdoor living space with a warm deck surface, a strong visual frame and a premium Signature Collection finish.

The Result

The finished installation created a warm, refined and low-maintenance outdoor living space with a clear premium feel.

The Oak Signature decking gave the area a natural timber-inspired base, while the Antique balustrade added contrast, structure and a more complete designed look.

Together, the two finishes helped the space feel more considered than a single-colour installation. The deck now feels like a proper outdoor room: usable, framed, comfortable and finished to the DecKing Standard.

The result is a strong example of how the DecKing Signature Collection can be used to create a coordinated outdoor living space with more depth, detail and long-term product confidence.
